I've spent 25 years removing the friction that stalls teams — in Fortune 500 boardrooms, clinical operating rooms, and startup war rooms.
My career started in code — real-time navigation systems, real-time financial systems, and mission-critical telecommunications systems. I eventually moved into architecture, infrastructure, and leadership, but I never lost the engineer's instinct: find the actual problem, not the presenting symptom.
At Northwell Health, New York's largest health system, I spent nearly a decade leading two very different organizations. First, a 70-person custom clinical software practice — building CareTool and patient safety systems that clinicians and quality officers actually used under pressure. Then, a Cloud Center of Excellence with a $40M+ migration budget and a mandate to move the entire data center footprint to Google Cloud. Both required the same thing: translating ambiguous executive vision into teams that could ship.
Earlier, at Operative.com, I directed global DevOps for a SaaS platform managing over $6 billion in annual ad revenue. At Cablevision, I stood up what became the company's first CEO-priority mobility initiative. Through my consultancy, Progressive Technologies, I served as fractional CTO for companies from telecom to media — including a nine-month legacy modernization at Porta Systems that the industry assumed would take four years.
Today I work at the edge of where AI is actually deployable in complex, regulated environments. I've built agent swarm prototypes in VS Code using Claude Code and Gemini. I understand what's real, what's hype, and how to build the organizational readiness to take advantage of either.
The engagements I find most compelling are the ones where a talented team has a real product and a real market — and something structural is slowing them down. That's the sweet spot.
Agentic workflow design, AI readiness assessment, governance frameworks for regulated industries. Built and tested — not theoretical.
Cloud Center of Excellence design, GCP migration factories, hyperscaler vendor management. Led at scale inside a complex health system.
Cross-functional squad architecture, Product/UX/Engineering alignment, roadmap prioritization for teams that need to move faster.
Technical due diligence, executive-level technical vision, board-ready architecture storytelling. Available full fractional or project-based.
